Yesterday I had the great pleasure of hanging with the guys from the new Organic Kitchen Shanghai, a tasty organic delivery service and soon-to-be cafe. After living in Shanghai for more than five years, Sam and Al finally got fed up with the pesticides and toxic chemicals in the local food and decided to do something about it. Without much experience in the food business, but a lot of passion for healthy cuisine, they pow-wowed with friends, hired a top chef and developed an expansive menu of tasty treats available for delivery through MealBay.
They whipped up some treats for me including chicken and veggie soup (as a New York Jew, I know my chicken soup – this one was delish), grilled veggie pesto sandwich, Robert’s fitness salad (recipe by their gym-lovin’ friend Robert) and a super yummy eggplant moutabal, a smoky dip I enjoyed with some organic carrots. Their menu goes on to include international box sets, low-oil asian dishes, juices and organic desserts.
Upcoming plans include a potential booth at the Brazilian or US booth at World Expo and a cafe in central Shanghai, but in the meantime, log on, order in and eat well. http://www.organickitchenshanghai.com/
